Kelab Tasik Cyberjaya

Again, Friday lunch break is the best time for you to explore cafes and restaurant near your office. Well, that's what we do. Last Friday, me, kak fiza, kak juwi and mewwie boo aka Jo went to Bayou Restaurant at Kelab Tasik Putrajaya for lunch. All three of them ordered lunch set; nasi putih with some lauk, we know it as nasi campur. It looks nice and yummy! I ordered one of my all time favourite meal; spaghetti carbonara. Huhuhuh.. Yummy!

The view from the restaurant was very soothing and relaxing; of course! It's because the restaurant surrounded by lake. Very nice eh!

Okay, so there's nothing much to comment about the food. It's good, the service is great. We manage to squeeze in discussion on forming a Movie Club! instead of reading books, we watch movies. Much cheaper and more fun. Once we watched our first movie, I'll let you know how it goes.

Chilli's @ KLCC

After sometime staying away from KLCC, it's nice to go back and check out what's new in KLCC. On my way back from work last week, I heard that there's a photography exhibition in Petronas Gallery. So me and a friend of mine, Musfiza aka Kak Fiza, took a trip to KLCC. Owh! I'm supposed to explain why I stay away from KLCC. I can't stand the crowd during weekends. That's why if you ask me to go to shopping complex during weekend, I'll just pass. It's not that I don't want to go out with you, I just couldn't stand the crowd.

Anyway, back to the original story. We went to couple of shops to find stuff. It's Kak Fiza's stuff. We managed to check out the exhibition, I'm a bit dissappointed. I thought it's going to be a candid of black & white pictures of our artists. It's more to studio-taking-photos. However, it's not that bad, inspired me to polish my photography skills! For those who wanted to check it out, you still can visit the exhibition by Soraya Yusof Talismail, from November 4th untill January 18, 2009.

There's an exhibition of sculptures from Ameen Gulgees, it's very artistic (which kind of hard for me to interpret what she's trying to say) and fun too. We must be very loud cause the next thing we know the security guard is checking out the sculpture for himself; just to confirm what we've discussed while checking out the sculptures. Huhuhu. That's fun though! Let's do it again! further details of these exhibitions; http://www.galeripetronas.com.my/

After walking for couple of hours, we had our lunch at Chilli's. Though the food is pricey (for me!) but it's worth it. I had lamb shoulder and Kak fiza had monterey chicken (not sure bout the spelling). The lunch was splendid! Rugi Kak Muna tak join kite!! Hihihih.

Had enough with KLCC, we took train to PS (as in Petaling Street). I'm going to find a perfect beg for myself. Huhuhuh. That will take a while. We go around and around and another round of PS, but I couldn't find the right bag for me. Kak Fiza already bought her bag! And she didn't plan to buy a bag. I'm supposed to buy bag, not her.. I like this bag, Chloe; try to bargain. the salesgirl set the price at RM185!! Do I look like I'm not local? Is it so obvious?? Told her that I'll take the bag for RM50 only. Everyone knows PS is fulll of pirated stuff. RM50 considered high enough ok. At the end, I didn't buy that bag. End up buying some Jimmy Choo bag because that guy really know how to sell. Love the bag!

Kak Fiza show me the best place to have tau foo fa, do u know the chinese stall at the corner in the middle of PS? It doesn't even have a place for u to sit. U can enjoy ur meal while standing. Lot's more stuff I didn't mention here. Too lazy to type. HIhihih..

Q Thai

Working is always tiring, don't u think? Weekdays, i caught up with my work and weekends, worst! always and always for my family.

I always appreciate simple pleasure during working hours. A good laugh, ease music, good mate and the most important thing is good food during you lunch. Hihihi.. It's always about food. Well, u are reading my blog already, keep reading.. go on.. keep reading it.. :)

I had to give a brand briefing thingy last Friday. To those who know me, I sucks in presenting stuff in public. Hate being in the spotlight, Hate it when people staring at u and listen to every word u said. Some people enjoying it but not for me. It gave me a nervous breakdown. I am so nervous of the presentation day that I've dreamed about it a nite before. Sucks!! Tell me about it!

So after the eventful briefing (managed to deliver the message; i think!) Me and my colleagues decided to try new restaurant. Its called Q Thai. Since I'm working in Cyberjaya, of course Q Thai is located at Cyberjaya, Street Mall to be exact. Very nice, cozy place. Deco wise, it does not reflect Thai that much, I've seen better! But the food is sooooo... yummy! Or may be it's because I love gravy thingy.

Don't care, I ordered beef kuey teow something.. something. Can't remember. Just look at the picture, it tasted really good. It's not that spicy or sour or salty, it's just nice. U can taste the food well. Please go there and try it for yourself. Very nice. A friend of mine ordered tom yam meehoon, which taste good as well and the other girl had some kind of soup (not sure what it is) and the most interesting is a bowl of rice, with Thai green curry and mango salad. It's a food that Siamese used to eat back in Thai. Yummy! the green curry is totally different from local orange reddish and yellowish curry.

To help you guys, I've managed to get the details for the restaurant,

The Day of the Doom

First of all, Al Fatihah for my dearest friend Syafina aka FISH. Today is her birthday. Ain reminded me about it this morning. I still couldn't accept the fact that she's gone. Let alone remembering her birthday. It hurts a lot. A kind of hurt that you wish you could just forget it.
For all my dearest and beloved friends, we are going to have tahlil for fish on December 14 (insyallah) at Masjid al Falah, USJ. To those who would like to join us, please call me or leave me a message on my facebook or friendster. (google me if you don't know)

I'm attending Brandfest 08, 2 days conference. Lots of info. Really enjoy it untill I got phone call from office. There's a problem with our launching ad. To make it merrier, got problems with the prospectus CD I'm working on rite now. Reasons to feel doom becoming surreal. It doesn't stop there. I couldn't find my pen drive. Where did I put it? Why am I so careless and clumsy? I think I should be a teacher or chef rather than being a branding, A&P personnel. What am I doing eh? What the hell in the world that I am doing?

As I'm writing these, I'm super hungry, tired, and I'm thinking of a better way to live my life rather than working for people. Working for people and working for people. Am I ungrateful? May be. Am I too rush into things? May be. Am I just stress out of all the messes I created? Definitely. Super trouper definite.

Today is the day of the doom. No matter how much choc that I have today can cheer me up or even lighten my mood. It's kind of hard to cope with everything especially paying bills. Sometimes, I wish I could start over at brand new place. May be a remote island or some deserted village.

If there's another way to start a second life, I wish there is. Hate my life. Hate my job. Hate living in USJ. Hate being stressed. Hate not being able to do what i wanna do. Hate it. Hate it. Life is supposed to be enjoyable! Because you live each day once. Only once. Only once.

This is a doom day. This is a DOOM day.

Bagan Lalang Trip

During one of the gathering thinggy, a friend of mine asked, what's ur plan this weekend? And I said, camping. She asked again, where? And I said, Bagan Lalang. She asked again, Bagan what? And I said, Bagan Lalang, Sepang Gold Coast? Does it ring any bell? And she laugh like crazy. (yes, it's you ezan! crazy old ezan)

Not many of us knew that there's a place called Sepang Gold Coast. Which was inspired by MB Selangor at that time, Khir Toyo. It offers nothing compared to Gold Coast in Australia nor UAE. It's just another idea of luxury living. That's not what I'm going to write about.

So, five of us, plus one (last minute rsvp) went to Sepang. To be exact, Bagan Lalang beach for camping trip. It's Shara's idea. The troupees are Awe, Shara, Lydia, Fin and me. Plus one would be Ezan, who join us last minute. We arrived in cowboy town Sg. Pelek around 9, bought everything that we need for camping like sausages, torchlight, drinks, snacks, and topup. Who needs topup during camping Awe?

Lots of fun that nite, roasted some fish, potatoes and sausages. Shara brought nasi beriani from one of her open houses. Hopefully she didn't just kidnap it from kitchen (hihihih) So after settle down, ezan with her machoness borrowed a ball from our neighbour. We form two team of beach futsal. Shara rule out the terms & conditions of the game. She even setup the goal and D area. The winner can bully the loser to do anything that they want. Simple is it? I think we laugh and scream more than we play. Really tiring though. It's been sometime since the last time i have to run and scream plus laughing at the same time. Mad bunch of people were chasing me like crazy!!

I don't think I'm going to write down everything here. What we have is the best camping trip I've ever been. So Thanks Gurls.. You've made my day!! Let's do the 4U2C dance again! Oh ya, for shara, lydia and fin, practice some more okay. hahaha. just kidding! love you guys!

Adham o Adham

Who doesn't love kids? I love kids so much. They are innocent, adorable and unpredictable, which is fun because you'll never know what's inside their head or what will they do next.

My friend Afni is having her wedding reception in Putrajaya (they got married much earlier in August). So Lydia, Kak Shima and me planned to go together to the reception. To my surprise, Kak Shima brought Adham with her. Hahaha. Love it! Adham is her four years old son who can chat about anything. He can talk for hours untill you run out of questions or ideas to tease him. Oh! And he chat with you untill he tired and fell asleep. That's Adham.

Well, Adham did highlight few things during the day. The first one; his mama always broke and his dad always rich. Second, he doesn't want to go to school yet because he doesn't has any fireman sam cap and uniform. Third, he hates smokers and he arrested eddy and fadzli for smoking. Kak Ila got a reminder from Adham too! Aunty Ila, wear your seatbelt! Huhuhuh.. Don't forget it Aunty Ila.

To Afni & Zaki, i hope your wedding will last till the end, heard that you are pregnant; congrats. To Eddy and Diana, your love story will inspire a super telenovela, one day i hope! hahaha.. Congrats guys! Wise man said, Kalau Jodoh Tak Kemana. I hope you guys will last for the rest of your life. Ameen.

Nilli's @ Taipan

Seriously I've been busy for the past couple of weeks. With Open Houses and gatherings. I'm not sure why do people always pick Syawal as their get together month. Anyway, I had lots of fun. Going to one house to another, enjoy Raya food which i love the most. The best part is not exactly the food. The best part is meeting your friends and gossipping about life.

Some people asked me, why do I like open house so much? (I told them my weekend plan, huhuhuh) It's not the open house that I like the most. It's my friends. Although sometimes they can be really annoying but they are still my friends and I love them. Love meeting them and hang out with them.

So this time, a friend of mine need to take a break from what she had been through with her life. We took her out to Nillie's (not sure if it's the correct spelling) at Taipan, Subang. Five of us there. Each of us tried different food kind of food. There's Spaghetti Marinara, Lydia asked for it. It taste okay, not too bad. Kak Shima order Char Koey Teow, sucks! If you want a good Char Koey Teow, try Carlos Restaurant at USJ 9 (next to pizza hut). I had Koey Teow Kungfu, it taste good. Really enjoy it! Abang Ari ordered Hailam Mee, not too bad and Shara ordered lasagna which really really dissappointing. Lasagna should be really creamy and moist. The lasagna served here was waaaaayyy too dry and tasteless. May be they are trying to save the cream sauce. hihihih. anyway, you can't do that if you are operating a restaurant. Words will spread and who knows what will happen next.

I've decided to start rating the restaurant that I've visited. For Nilli's@Taipan, I'll give you ** out of *****. Try harder!!

MMU Open House

Right after Aidilfitri break, most of us in Corporate Communication Unit (CCU) started working for MMU Raya Open House already. Most of major events in MMU will be organized by CCU including this Open House. We had set up a small committee for this event. So most of the arrangement has been made before we leave for Raya.

Sadly, the event gurl; Ms Fiza will be not be with us during the day. She has other commitment. Jo-anne; the new event gurl will take over to organize this event. The day came and we've been running around like headless chicken. I'm the emcee for the event (should be better than sarimah in not time huhuh). The event went smoothly even though there's few things that we've missed. Most of us in CCU are really new, me for example barely a month in CCU, Jo-anne, 10 days. So most of us don't really know the protocol that we really need to understand and memorize especially is we have a big crowd (almost 800 guests) and super duper VIP like Tun Mahathir and Tun CT Hasmah aka Tun M and Tun C. We have Datuk Zamzamzairani and Tan Sri Radzi too from TM Group.

Lesson to be learned; always always always make sure your supplier understood the importantness of VVIP and you yourself should always have plan B. Hahaha. Even though some people complain (who never did?) about what had happened on the day. I still think we manage to pull off quite a successful event. Don't you think?

Saba'

Swish Tawouf.. if I am not mistaken. That's the name of the dish of the above. It comes with special rice (very different from our local rice). The texture much longer than local produced rice. Other than the texture, it taste a bit different. I think its all the spices that being cooked together with the rice. You can eat the rice on its own, without any other dish. Its taste so good! The rice being served with tandoori chicken, lemon, salad, and onions. The salad comes with special sauce. I think its because Malaysian loves something spicy so the chef had to invent his own sauce recipe so we won;t spoil the taste by using western chillie & ketchup sauce. :P

As for the drink, please order lemonade for your drink as it goes much better with the food compared to any other drinks.

Oh ya! The restaurant served non-alcoholic beer. (Malta based drinks) It comes with few choices of flavor. It doesn't taste much like malta based drinks, more to sparkling juice thingy. I'm a bit dissapointed, honestly taste like sparkling drinks.

If you are familiar with Cyberjaya area, the restaurant located at the same building as Multimedia College (opposite Street Mall). You can spot it from the main road. Saba' restaurant serves foods from mid-east specializing in Iranian food. Too much of mid east food lately - well, i'll post new dish sometime within this week. Should be open house dishes..

Overall, the food was just average. I think my father cooked Nasi Bukhara much better than the restaurant did. See ya guys soon. Daaaaa!!

Sawarabina

Huhuhu.. We are in the second week of Syawal. Missed my frens sooo much. Hope none of them bloated with all the rendangs, puluts and ketupats during raya.

So, last nite Shara, Lydia and me went out for dinner. We've tried a new dish called chick peas; originated from Syria. It's an appetizer comes with bread which looks like chapati (but taste much better than chapati) a special sauce from Syria which contain olive oil and diced tomatoes in it. The owner gives us a chance to try arab chilli sauce. It taste very different from the sauce that we've always eat before. The arab chilli sauce is not spicy at all, the chef did put garlic sauce together with the arab chilli sauce. For those who eat it, please standby a mint chewing gum extra strong or you date will ran away!

How to eat the food? Well, i'm not sure how to really eat it but who cares? i really enjoy the meal. Hope you would try it too!

Owh! forgot to mention the location. its called SAWARABINA restaurant, and the one that we went located at Hartamas Square (google it).

Gonna go food hunting! Daaaaaaa

Ole-Ole Bali

Other than busy with upcoming Hari Raya, and new job, I barely have time to try new recipe. Can't post any new recipe today. So I am going to share something else with you guys.

Last week, me and the girls went out for 'buka puasa'. Sponsored by the newly wed Mr&Mrs Papa. Xue said its a treat for her delegation who runs around like headless chicken on her wedding day. huhuhu.. Love the wedding.

Anyway, have anyone tried Ole-Ole Bali? Hihih.. Nice restaurant! Located at Sunway Pyramid, Subang (you can see it when you drive pass Sunway Pyramid). As per her name, Ole-Ole Bali serves traditional food from Bali. I would recommend Ole-Ole Trio for everybody! (Luvv it!!)

*Thanks to Shara & Apap for the pic!

Pineapple Tart / Tat Nenas

Pineapple Tart is the best made cookies that i've made so far. Well, at least that's what people told me! :) The best pineapple tart lies on the taste when it melts in your mouth. And when you chew it, you can taste the sweetness of the pineapple jam, it felt so right. Felt so good like a gift that you will cherish forever.

Okay, I am over exaggerating it. But that was what my ex-boss described it. Huhuhuh.. Haven't got a chance to post the picture of cookies that I've made. Will do that very soon. Promise!

So here's my recipe! What you need are :-

- Get a pineapple jam (extract is more likely)
- 250 gm of butter
- 50 gm of icing sugar
- 375 gm of flour
- 20 gm of corn flour
- 2 pcs of eggs (yellow only)
- 1/2 tea spoon of vanilla essence

Mix up butter and icing sugar, blend it untill the color becoming pale. Add 2 yellow eggs into it. Blend it some more. Untill it really mixed then put in vanilla essence, blend some more. The longer you blend the mixture, the better it become. Add in flour and corn flour. And you are done!

There are several types of pineapple tarts, so you can try with any shape that you want! Put it in oven for 20 minutes at 200 degrees. Good luck. Let me know how it goes!
